The addition brings the number of payment platforms supported by Metamask to ten.

MetaMask, a popular Ethereum and multi-currency wallet, announced support for major payment processor Stripe on Oct. 11.

The new feature will allow users to deposit fiat currencies and receive cryptocurrencies through a new on-ramp. MetaMask said the Stripe on-ramp will be available through its mobile app, browser plugin, and multi-functional Portfolio service.

MetaMask said that while the feature will initially be available to users in the United States, no further information was available on its wider location availability or the specific fiat currencies supported.

MetaMask also noted that the feature is powered by Stripe’s Link service, which it describes as a “one-click payment solution that optimizes authorization rates [successful transactions] and simplifies the purchase experience.”

Metamask announced its additional fiat onramps in April 2023. It then announced an export or cash-out feature in September.

MetaMask’s cryptocurrency purchase page indicates that the platform has partnered with at least nine other payment services to provide fiat on-ramps, perhaps most notably those involving PayPal and Coinbase Pay. MetaMask’s parent company Consensys announced these additions in December 2022 and May 2022, respectively.

Other payment services that act as MetaMask on-ramps include Transak, MoonPay, Sardine, Banxa, Onramp.money, Ramp, and Mercuryo.

MetaMask has over 30 million users

MetaMask serves 30 million users and provides connections to over 17,000 Web3 services. The wallet supports Ethereum (ETH) as well as compatible tokens and networks.

Past reports from MetaMask indicate that its wallet alone has processed at least $10 billion in peer-to-peer token swaps, without taking into account its other features.

Despite its popularity, the wallet has recently attracted controversy due to recent email address leaks, criticism of IP address data collection and country blocking, and now-debunked allegations of taxation.

It should be noted that, despite rumors, MetaMask is not currently conducting a token sale or airdrop. Therefore, any such offers seen on social media should be considered scams. #MetaMask  #钱包
