Nigerian Bitcoin supporters file lawsuit to challenge government restrictions

Nigerian Bitcoin supporter James Utudor recently filed a lawsuit against the government for restricting the ownership, use and trading of digital assets, demanding the lifting of the blockade of cryptocurrency exchanges to ensure that Nigerians have unrestricted access. 💼

Utudor said the move is aimed at protecting the basic rights of Nigerians because cryptocurrencies are an important tool for fighting inflation and conducting international transactions. 🌍💰

The lawsuit also requires the court to confirm the rights of Bitcoin and USDT holders and to recognize Bitcoin as a commodity. Institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Securities and Exchange Commission were also listed as defendants. ⚖️
