The coin’s intraday peak was $0.09777. Notably, Dogecoin’s futures OI jumped 0.59% within the 4-hour chart, while 0.14% in the 1-hour time frame, reaching $443.17 million. The slight uptrend in tandem with Musk’s post has garnered significant attention to the token. Crypto market watchers speculate if Trump’s win could spark a rally in Dogecoin as Elon Musk takes a government seat with DOGE position. Crypto Giveaway: Here’s the List of Altcoins Vitalik Buterin Plans to Donate ________ Vitalik Buterin to Layer 2 Proceeds Vitalik Buterin revealed that he will donate proceeds of the layer 2 project or other token projects to the public good within the Ethereum ecosystem or wider charities. This sparked speculations on the amount of altcoins the Ethereum executive intends to donate. Several crypto users flagged financial activities around the between accusing Buterin of dumping the asset for personal gains. In his response, he denied taking proceeds from sales since 2018 and stated that all sales were made to support projects he believed to be valuable. “I haven’t sold and kept the proceeds since 2018. All sales have been to support various projects that I think are valuable, either within the Ethereum ecosystem or broader charity (eg. biomedical R&D).” He noted that the donation will apply to all layer2 tokens he holds adding that he will not be investing in those projects but will with donations, especially in cases where the wider market might undervalue those projects. Looking at his holdings, it appears the Ethereum co-founder might donate Optimism (OP), Starknet (STRK), and Blast (BLAST) among others. A Move To Address Community Concerns Among the reasons for the donations, Vitalik Buterin explained that it would set an example and increase confidence among users. This goes to show that he is not a part of some plot to twist the network that drives benefits to him. Some users suggested that it would be better to invest in tokens and use the profits towards the community. Bank of Canada Lowers Interest Rates, What’s Next For Bitcoin? The Bank of Canada cuts interest rates by 25 basis points as inflation cools. The bank cited cooling inflation pressures and economic growth in line with previous projections. Crypto enthusiasts are keen on the markets as Bitcoin bulls look ahead for positive macroeconomic factors. Bank of Canada Cuts Interest Rates The Bank of Canada announced interest rate cuts on the heels of slowing inflation. In a Sept 4 release, the Bank announced its third consecutive rate cuts in line with policy projections. The move takes the policy rate to 4.25% signaling options for more cuts in the favorable factors. “With continued easing in broad inflationary pressures, the Governing Council decided to reduce the policy interest rate by a further 25 basis points. Excess supply in the economy continues to put downward pressure on inflation, while price increases in shelter and some other services are holding inflation up. Governing Council is carefully assessing these opposing forces on inflation.” The bank added that monetary decisions will be made based on emerging information and implications for inflation outlook. The inflation target remains at 2% with Governor Tiff Macklem stating that the policymakers will guard against the risk of a weak economy resulting in a rapid drop. Overall, the Bank of Canada noted that the economy grew in Q2 2024 due to government spending and investment business.
