According to TechFlow, on July 28, Airstar Bank Limited announced a partnership with JD.com’s Jingdong Coinlink to explore cross-border payment solutions for enterprises based on stablecoins. This cooperation is carried out under the framework of the “Sandbox” project for stablecoin issuers launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority.

As one of the participating institutions in the "Sandbox", JINGDONG Coinlink plans to use the "Sandbox" environment to innovate, test and improve, and is committed to using blockchain technology to develop cross-border payment solutions to help companies solve cross-border payment problems and improve payment experience. Earlier news, on July 24, JD.com announced that it would issue a cryptocurrency stablecoin in Hong Kong that is pegged 1:1 to the Hong Kong dollar (HKD).

It is reported that Airstar Bank is a virtual bank jointly established by Xiaomi Group and AMTD Group. On May 9, 2019, Insight Fintech HK Limited, which is 90% owned by Xiaomi Group and 10% owned by AMTD Group, obtained a banking license issued by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and was renamed "Airstar Bank Limited" on July 15, 2019. Currently, Lei Jun is the chairman of the board of directors of Airstar Bank and Hu Wei is the CEO.
