The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) recorded record interest in Ether (ETH) futures following the launch of spot ETFs in the US.

- Open interest reached 7,661 contracts, equivalent to 383,650 ETH and $1.4 billion.

- Trading volume amounted to 14,736 contracts, which is three times higher than the average for July.

- CME Head of Cryptocurrency Products Giovanni Vicioso attributes the growth to the start of trading in spot ether ETFs in the United States.

Spot ETFs attract investors by providing exposure to real cryptocurrency rather than derivatives. These funds are expected to raise billions of dollars in the coming months.
