Payments to creditors began after a series of transfers during which the exchange guarantor moved 48,641 BTC worth over $3 billion. According to the analytics company Arkham Intelligence, 37,477 BTC were returned to the MtGox cold wallet on July 23, and today they were moved to an unknown address.

Let us remind you that on July 16, the exchange moved about 140,000 BTC per day for a total amount of about $9 billion to various crypto addresses. One of the recipients of the funds was the Kraken exchange. Users who received payments said on Reddit that they would use the funds to purchase real estate.

The Bitcoin rate practically did not react to messages about the start of payments and the transfer of funds to creditors of the bankrupt exchange. Over the past 24 hours, the price of Bitcoin has decreased by about 1% and amounted to $66,200.

Earlier, JPMorgan analysts led by Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou noted that the liquidation of bitcoins by creditors of the MtGox exchange became negative factors affecting the crypto industry.
