Revolutionary Investment Opportunities: New Model of Film Investment

Recently, the new movie "Treasure Island" starring the famous Japanese actor Tsumabuki Satoshi has attracted widespread attention, not only because of its luxurious cast (co-stars include Hirose Suzu, Kubota Masataka, Nagayama Eita), but also because The movie will launch a Security Token (ST), allowing ordinary investors to participate in movie investment and share box office profits. This innovative investment model, jointly launched by Securitize Japan and Phillip Securities, combines film investment with blockchain technology to provide investors with a new way to participate.

Securitize Japan announced on the 12th that it will issue security tokens based on the movie "Treasure Island". The film is adapted from Junjo Mato's novel of the same name and is co-produced by Sony Pictures and Toei. Investors can participate in a share of the movie’s box office revenue by purchasing a token worth 100,000 yen. The token issuance begins on July 24 for three weeks and will run for three years.

Multiple benefits attract investors

The issuance of security tokens in "Treasure Island" is not only a simple investment opportunity, but also a channel to obtain multiple benefits. Depending on the size of their investment, in addition to receiving a share of the box office revenue, investors can also enjoy additional rights such as participating in movie premiere events, receiving movie promotional posters, and having their names displayed in the end credits. This not only increases investors’ sense of participation, but also provides more possibilities for film publicity and promotion.

It is reported that if the movie’s box office revenue reaches 3 billion yen, investors will start receiving dividends. However, this also means that investment is risky, and investors may face losses if the box office performance is poor. The total production cost of the film is approximately 1.37 billion yen, of which approximately 75% is borne by production companies such as Sony and Toei, while the remainder is raised through the security tokens.

Blockchain technology brings new changes

The issuance and management of the security tokens will be conducted through the Securitize PF platform, a highly flexible and secure blockchain platform. Phillip Securities selected Securitize PF with the aim of tokenizing more diverse assets and rights in the future. Securitize Japan has extensive experience in STO (security token issuance) and can support multiple issuance models, including self-raised, bank-sold and securities company-sold STO.

The issuance of security tokens in "Treasure Island" also symbolizes the first application of blockchain technology in the film production and investment industry. Through blockchain technology, ordinary investors can participate in film production more conveniently and transparently and share its economic results. This not only changes the traditional film investment model, but also opens up new industries for the application of blockchain technology.
