According to TechFlow, the cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io announced today that it will stop providing services in Japan in order to comply with Japanese financial regulations. The main measures include:

• Effective July 22, 2024, new accounts will no longer be opened for Japanese residents.

• Launched a legal compliance program to support clients in migrating their transactions to crypto asset trading providers that comply with Japanese regulations.

• The Japanese platform description has been removed, but necessary Japanese information will still be provided during the transition period.

• A detailed service suspension and transition trading plan will be formulated in accordance with the requirements of the Financial Services Agency and will be announced in due course.
