English Football Team Bought Bitcoin as Much as Transfer Price: Spent Millions of Dollars!

A British amateur football club bought $4.5 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC).

Real Bedford, an amateur football club in Bedford, England, supported by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, founders of the US cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, purchased $4.5 million worth of Bitcoin.

According to the post shared by club president Peter McCormack on Twitter, the club, which has been on the agenda before with its friendly attitude towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, purchased 66.9 BTC at an average price of $ 67,220. With this latest purchase, Real Bedford's total Bitcoin holdings reached 82.7 BTC and the average purchase price of these Bitcoins was $64,925.

McCormack, who bought the club in 2021, stated that 15.8 BTC of the total Bitcoin assets were allocated for operational purposes related to football activities. The remaining balance is kept securely in the club's treasury.

It is stated that Real Bedford's proactive stance on cryptocurrency sets an example for other clubs and businesses considering diversifying their assets and exploring new financial areas.
