🇩🇪 The Dresden Prosecutor's Office has made it official: the emergency sale of nearly 50,000 Bitcoins brought agencies an "unprecedented" amount of $2.88 billion.
The office added in the statement that the price of Bitcoin and market conditions were irrelevant in its decision, with the goal being to complete the sale “as quickly as possible.”
The funds will be kept until the end of the criminal proceedings initiated against the German and Polish nationals from whom they were seized.
“The bank was tasked with selling bitcoins in a fair and market-friendly manner.”
