Soccerverse, the blockchain-based sports simulation game, has announced a $3.1 million funding round led by Japanese gaming giant Square-Enix. The game, which runs on the Polygon blockchain, allows users to take on roles such as coaching a team or representing a player. The funding comes at a crucial time for Soccerverse, as it aims to capitalize on the hype around the upcoming launch of the new Football Manager game by Sega and Sports Interactive. The funds will be used to improve the quality of the game and reach a global audience, according to Soccerverse CEO Andy Gore.
