According to Cointelegraph, Polygon has open-sourced its Chain Development Kit (CDK), and the Ethereum ecosystem may usher in multiple Layer 2 (L2) protocols built on this code base. Jordi Baylina, technical lead of Polygon Hermez zkEVM, said that the core advantage of this toolset is that Polygon CDK can automatically access the liquidity of all Polygon chains and the wider Ethereum ecosystem, providing "on-demand expansion without dispersing liquidity." Baylina also emphasized the importance of zero-knowledge proof (ZK-proof) technology, believing that zero-knowledge proof is the future of Ethereum expansion. Chains launched through Polygon CDK will automatically connect to the shared ZK bridge and access the "interoperability layer" of the cross-chain communication protocol.
