According to ChainCatcher, Paradigm conducted its first opinion poll of Republican voters in June this year and recently released a report on the survey results. The report stated that Republicans strongly support financial freedom through cryptocurrency and oppose centralized control such as central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Among them, 28% of Republicans own or have purchased cryptocurrency, which is higher than the national average. Young and non-white Republicans are key groups, with 41% of non-whites and 45% of Republicans under 40 owning cryptocurrency.

67% of Republican voters expressed dissatisfaction with the way the U.S. financial system currently works, and 72% are concerned about losing access to financial services. Republicans are very concerned about financial privacy, and 94% of respondents oppose IRS oversight and CBDCs.

Republicans currently favor Congress to establish clear cryptocurrency regulations, with 60% favoring legislative action. Donald Trump’s pro-crypto stance makes the 13% of Republicans who “will never support Trump” more likely to vote for him.
