Alchemy Pay emphasizes: adapting to Taiwan’s convenience supermarket culture, buying coins with great privacy

Alchemy Pay said that Taiwan has an extensive network of convenience supermarkets, so there is always a place to buy nearby. This means that users can now purchase cryptocurrencies while running daily errands without having to go to a bank or use online payment methods. Paying with cash at a trusted convenience store adds an extra layer of security, as users don't need to share their bank details or credit card information.

Alchemy Pay’s way to buy cryptocurrency with cash

Alchemy Pay stated that it teaches users how to buy coins through Taiwanese supermarkets:

  1. Select NT$ and choose your cryptocurrency
    Visit Alchemy Pay’s payment platform. Select NT$ as the fiat currency and then select the cryptocurrency you want to purchase.

  2. Choose cash payment
    Select the cash payment option and get your offline payment ID number.

  3. Offline payment
    Go to a convenience store, enter your payment ID number into the payment machine (ibon) to get a receipt, then pay for your order in cash at the counter.

  4. Receive your cryptocurrency
    After completing the payment, you will receive a confirmation on the payment platform and the purchased cryptocurrency will be transferred to your wallet.

Alchemy Pay adds Web3 entry-level territory

Alchemy Pay currently supports 173 countries around the world, more than 300 payment channels and more than 50 legal currencies, focusing on emerging markets in Southeast Asia, South America and Africa. The company aims to simplify entry into Web3 for more regions and plans to expand its coverage this year to all countries capable of using cryptocurrencies. In addition, Alchemy Pay will introduce more local payment options in the countries it already serves.

Is Alchemy Pay a Taiwanese VASP?

Although Taiwan has promulgated guidelines for VASPs (Virtual Asset Service Providers), Taiwanese industry players also have association self-regulation. However, Alchemy Pay, which provides cash currency buying services, is not on the list of VASP anti-laundering declaration companies. Although this company registered in Lithuania requires customers to KYC, it may have stepped on Taiwan's relevant regulations.
