According to TechFlow, Seattle-based Dangerous Things and VivoKey Technologies have introduced a novel way for you to carry your cryptocurrencies with you at all times: implanting them in your body.

These hardware wallets are implanted under the skin to store and send cryptocurrencies. Amal Graafstra, founder and CEO of VivoKey, said the mobile app is the interface, but private keys and transaction signing are done in the chip.

The Apex chip can not only store Bitcoin, but can also be used to open doors or pay for coffee. Currently it supports the Satochip wallet, Seedkeeper app and Status IM key card wallet. The Apex Flex implant costs $349.

Graafstra started using RFID implants as early as 2005, initially motivated by the need to facilitate door opening. Customers were willing to pay a premium for a secure and permanent implant.
