Soccer superstar Lionel Messi’s Instagram account posted a limited-time story on Monday that appears to be promoting Solana’s on-chain meme coin WATER. Messi’s Instagram account has 504 million followers, second only to soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. The Instagram account associated with WATER also shared the story in a post that showed a photo of Messi with the memecoin logo displayed near his shoulder. The memecoin X page has more than 185,000 followers but has not posted any posts as of press time. Shortly after Messi’s Instagram account posted the post, WATER rose more than 55% in a short period of time, according to CoinGecko data. According to the memecoin website, "WATER is a meme coin with no intrinsic value and no expectation of financial return." The website also stated that the token can be purchased and traded on Bitget, BitMart and MEXC. #feedfeverchallenge
