"AI companies need to fulfill their promise to develop artificial general intelligence (AGI) to fill the gap between investment and profits. Currently, there is no scientific evidence that AGI can deliver ok 🤖#AI#AGI#OpenAI#SequoiaCapital

The current AI market is largely based on expectations. OpenAI is one of the few highly profitable eco-AI businesses, and the difference between its revenue (about $3.4 billion) and its closest competitors is huge.

AI companies need to grow more than half a trillion dollars in revenue to justify current costs - a number that is expected to increase year after year.

What about the product? Analysts are asking when real AI products or services will emerge to sustain this level of growth.

If the market cannot justify Nvidia's position of nearly $3 trillion soon enough to avoid potential risks, the $600 billion gap for the industry could widen to the point of no return.

However, on the bright side, if industry really does invent AGI, there is no point of no return. Nvidia is also key to this situation.

Nvidia is preparing to launch a new chipset based on Blackwell (called "B100") for ecological AI training. The B100 is said to outperform the current industry standard (Nvidia's H100) by 2.5 times and only increases the price by 25%.

If experts believe it's possible to do AGI before Nvidia's latest and greatest chips are released, it will be easier with hardware that increases power and efficiency by 150%.
