Phishing scammers have made over $300 million by targeting more than 260,000 victims on EVM chains, according to Scam Sniffer data. The first half of 2024 has been a profitable period for scammers, stealing $314 million worth of crypto, up 6.44%. 📉 58 million dollars of this amount was stolen from just 20 victims. Scam Sniffer noted that scammers often aim to control victims' assets by using phishing signatures such as Permit, IncreaseAllowance and Uniswap Permit2. Meanwhile, Bitget's latest report revealed that deepfake-related crypto scams have caused over $79.1 billion in losses since 2022.
