German MP Joana Cotar strongly criticized the government's decision to sell $195 million worth of Bitcoin, saying the move exacerbated market volatility and could have a long-term negative impact on the stability of the cryptocurrency market, Golden Finance reported. The Bitcoins came from an investigation into the illegal website Movie2k.to. Cotar said on Twitter that the German government should reconsider this strategy and discuss with the United States the use of Bitcoin as a strategic reserve currency. She invited officials to attend a lecture on "National Bitcoin Strategy" on October 17, hosted by Bitcoin strategist Samson Mow, to discuss how to use Bitcoin to enhance the national economy.
