The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has selected Cambodia as the site for a pilot program of its blockchain-based Universal Trusted Credentials (UTC) system. The Dfinity Foundation, creator of the Internet Computer blockchain, will collaborate with the UNDP on the project. The UTC, which aims to boost the participation of small and medium enterprises in the digital economy, will be secured and managed by Internet Computer. The pilot is set to expand to ten countries eventually. The Cambodian Securities and Exchange Regulator has an agreement with Binance to develop digital asset regulation, making the country a suitable testing ground.
