Ethereum Foundation Email Hacked, No One Victims of Lido Staking Scam

On June 23, the Ethereum Foundation's email server was hacked, allowing hackers to launch a phishing scam impersonating Lido staking.

Hackers hacked into the Foundation's "update" email account and sent fraudulent emails to 35,794 users. According to a blog post published by the Foundation, the hackers used official email addresses

The emails falsely claimed that the Ethereum Foundation was working with LIDO DAO to offer 6.8% interest. When subscribers clicked the "Start Staking" button, they were directed to a malicious web application, and once they clicked the "Stake" button, their wallets could be emptied.

The Ethereum Foundation acted quickly after discovering the attack, blocking the attacker and restoring the compromised 瑾qu/n嘉卫:btc0877 email account. At the same time, the malicious access path was blocked to prevent the attacker from accessing the email address again, and users were warned.

The findings showed that another 3,759 email addresses were also compromised, but no damage was reported. The foundation said: "After the hacker sent the email, we confirmed that no victims lost funds."
