T-Mobile Deutsche Telekom MMS has collaborated with Subsquid, a decentralized data platform, to run dedicated worker nodes as part of Subsquid's decentralized "data lake." The collaboration aims to improve the security and efficiency of blockchain data reception and delivery.

Worker nodes in the Subsquid network process data queries and retrieve requested information from the data lake for data consumers. Alexander Ebeling, co-founder of Deutsche Telekom MMS's Web3 Unit, stated that this collaboration is in line with our strategic vision "to embrace decentralization and support the development of new, decentralized business models."

Subsquid co-founder Marcel Fohrmann said the partnership will "strengthen and secure unauthorized data access" on Web3. This collaboration follows Deutsche Telekom's decision to become a validator for Polygon, the Ethereum layer-2 scaling platform.

On data security, Ebeling said "security remains a top concern, with enterprise-scale systems being primary targets for cyber threats." Speaking on behalf of Subsquid, Dmitry Zhelezov noted that there are several challenges, such as effectively ensuring data partitioning and implementing enterprise-level security measures in a decentralized space.

Dirk Röder, Deutsche Telekom's head of Web3 infrastructure and solutions, stated at the BTC Prague event that the company has been operating a Bitcoin (BTC) node since 2023. When Röder asked if he could provide more information on "digital monetary photosynthesis" and whether the company plans to mine Bitcoin, Röder said "yes, we will."
