A judge in the US has granted software firm Consensys' request to expedite the company's lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In a July 1 filing, Judge Reed O’Connor approved a timeline in which the court will now consider the merits of Consensys' lawsuit against the regulator. Consensys senior attorney Bill Hughes shared some details of the judge's decision on X on July 2. He granted our request to have the SEC consider the merits of our case on an expedited basis as to whether it has the authority to regulate MetaMask as a securities broker and issuer. Hughes believes a decision is likely to come in December. 🏛️
