According to Foresight News, according to FinanceFeeds, Japanese multi-industry giant Sony plans to launch a cryptocurrency trading platform subsidiary by transforming the local trading platform WhaleFin acquired last year. WhaleFin has been renamed S.BLOX Co. and plans to cooperate with other businesses of the Sony Group to enhance its cryptocurrency trading services.

The revamp includes a redesigned user interface and a new mobile app, designed to provide a more user-friendly experience. However, the exact launch date of the S.BLOX crypto trading platform has not yet been announced. The crypto trading entity was originally a Japanese cryptocurrency trading platform DeCurret, which was acquired by the Japanese subsidiary of Singapore's Amber Group in 2022. In August 2023, Sony's wholly-owned subsidiary Quetta Web Co. acquired the platform.
