The sale grossed $1 million, the second-highest total for a Sotheby’s online digital art auction, with all lots sold at prices approximately 75% above the high estimate.

Igloo, Inc. Becomes New Parent Company of Pudgy Penguins

The fat penguins are settling into their new home - the igloo, as new parent company Igloo, Inc. is formed with the mission to drive consumer cryptocurrency adoption and create the world’s largest on-chain community.

According to the announcement, the Pudgy Penguins character will serve as a friendly and inviting brand to attract new community members to the ecosystem and build an emotional connection with holders, and OverpassIP will be the next stop, connecting holders with brands and promoting IP collaboration.

Goblintown Launches Portals

Truth Arts, the creative force behind the Goblintown NFT series, has launched “Portals,” an immersive new feature that allows holders to connect their collectibles from one chain to another.

Currently supported blockchains include Ethereum extension networks Arbitrum, Base, Blast, Optimism, and Polygon, with Solana reportedly coming next.

Pixels Chapter 2 is now available

Pixels, a game built on the Ethereum extension network Ronin, has just launched its second chapter update.

The new version aims to improve the player experience by expanding the storyline and quests, and players can also look forward to some exciting enhancements that Pixels founder Luke Barwikowski says will make the game feel more like an MMORPG.

8SIAN launches digital magazine

8SIAN, an NFT community advocating for Asian representation in web3, has launched its first digital lifestyle magazine, which will be available in both digital and physical editions for NFT holders, with a bi-monthly 40-page issue.

'Central American Fever Dream' announces final chapter

Renowned photographer Summer Wagner has just announced that her solo exhibition will open in Los Angeles on August 29th, an immersive experience that will include object photographs, video installations, music, and ritual.

The exhibition is the fourth and final installment in Wagner’s “Middle American Fever Dream” narrative series, the first three waves of which were released on Ethereum.

As Wagner describes it on the series’ homepage, the series is a character study of an American family living in the Rust Belt who “go through a process of encounter with their own shadows.”

The storyline explores the relationship between man and his environment, highlighting the landscape of post-industrial American cities.
