Doodles teams up with McDonald's to launch holiday-themed collectible cups
Earlier this week, rumors circulated on X, igniting excitement among web3 community members as they analyzed every clue. What were their conclusions?
Doodles is a digital art and entertainment brand based on the whimsical designs of Burnt Toast and the creative direction of music legend Pharrell Williams. In collaboration with McDonald's, by November 14, their skepticism was proven right when a Doodles representative confirmed the collaboration to OpenSea, shortly followed by an announcement.
Starting November 18, customers at participating McDonald's locations across the U.S. can purchase McCafé drinks in Doodles-themed holiday cups to unlock exclusive digital collectibles. Through the McDonald's app, customers can access fun digital character accessories and wearable items redeemable on the Doodles Stoodio platform.
This collaboration also includes limited edition merchandise and the holiday music track 'Good Mornin'', created by artist Marley Bleu and produced by Williams. The song is inspired by the 'GM' meme circulating among web3 builders and fans on X and is expected to launch a music video in December.

Ethereum researcher Justin Drake proposed the Beam Chain as an 'Ethereum 3.0' upgrade at Devcon SEA.
Ethereum researcher Justin Drake unveiled the proposed consensus layer Beam Chain for Ethereum at the Devcon SEA conference in Bangkok. Beam Chain utilizes zero-knowledge SNARK, a cryptographic tool that proves data without revealing certain information, streamlining node verification and enhancing scalability.
Drake emphasized that zero-knowledge technology is a scalable and cost-effective solution and suggested that Ethereum adopt planned upgrades every few years as part of its long-term development.
This proposal marks the first significant upgrade suggestion for Ethereum since The Merge, which is a two-part reform that transitioned Ethereum from a proof-of-work consensus to proof-of-stake.
PayPal USD expands cryptocurrency coverage, connecting Ethereum and Solana
PayPal has integrated the blockchain interoperability protocol LayerZero for seamless transfers of its stablecoin PayPal USD (PYUSD) between Ethereum and Solana blockchains.
This integration allows users to transact with PYUSD across two chains without relying on bridges, reducing friction and enhancing security. This also marks a significant step for PayPal into web3, making PYUSD a more versatile currency for cross-chain payments.
