🔥Hot News! The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) recently announced that Ukrainian Nikita Andreevich Sklyuev (aka Valeriy Dorojkin) has been extradited to Buffalo, New York, USA, to stand trial on charges of wire fraud and fraudulent use of an unauthorized access device. Sklyuev is accused of submitting a malicious cryptocurrency wallet app "EOSIO Wallet Browser" to the Apple App Store in June 2018.

🔍Dig deeper, the app claimed to be a legitimate cryptocurrency wallet, but in fact it stole users' private keys, allowing Sklyuev to access their funds. A victim installed the app in September 2018 and lost approximately $11.8 million in cryptocurrency. Sklyuev later transferred these funds to multiple online wallets under his control.

😱Amazingly, these charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sklyuev will have a detention hearing on July 3, 2024. In this turbulent cryptocurrency market, we must remain vigilant to prevent ourselves from becoming the next victim. 💪💪💪 (Bitcoin.com)
