Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has failed to convince a US court to dismiss most of the claims brought against it by the country's securities regulator. 🏛️ Claims related to Binance's staking program, the sale of BNB after the initial coin offering, and anti-fraud violations will be heard, Judge Amy Berman Jackson said on June 28.

The securities regulator claims former CEO Changpeng 'CZ' Zhao acted as a "controlling person" and his claim that Binance was required to register under the Exchange Act will also be reviewed.

However, it was not a complete victory for the SEC - Jackson ultimately decided to dismiss claims related to BNB sales on the secondary market and sales related to the Binance USD (BUSD) stablecoin.

A court hearing is scheduled for July 9.
