A federal judge has dismissed part of the US Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchange Binance and its founder Changpeng Zhao, but allowed other charges to proceed, including charges against the holding company Binance.US.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson allowed the SEC's charges against Binance to proceed with its initial coin offering and sales of BNB, BNB Vault, staking services, failure to register and fraud. It granted Binance and Zhao's motion to dismiss charges related to secondary sales of BNB and Simple Earn.

A hearing is scheduled for July 9.
