Nate Geraci said that the spot Ethereum ETF product may be launched in the next 14 to 21 days, and the latest S-1 amendment is progressing smoothly.
There is still much speculation as to when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will approve spot Ethereum ETF trading.
According to the latest S-1 amendment, the SEC has received eight registration documents from institutions including BlackRock, Fidelity, 21Shares, Grayscale, Franklin Templeton, VanEck, iShares and Invesco. SEC Chairman Gary Gensler confirmed that the approval process for the spot Ethereum ETF is going smoothly.
Screenshots shared by Nate Geraci show that the last round of S-1 amendments were relatively minor, so the SEC may soon notify applicants of a specific date to begin trading.
If this is the case, applicants for a spot Ethereum ETF may not need to make significant adjustments to their proposed rules. The SEC may provide some additional comments, but the impact is likely to be minor.
Overall, the ball is currently in the SEC's court. The source in Geraci's screenshot emphasized that approval is expected within the next two to three weeks.
Furthermore, analysts are in line with previous speculation, predicting that approval could come in the first week of July, possibly by the 2nd or 4th. Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley is among those who have said that approval could be possible before July 4th.
Currently, most spot Ethereum ETF applicants are probably considering their management fees, which is a key topic they are discussing.
Franklin Templeton and VanEck are the only applicants to disclose their respective management fees, capped at 0.19% and 0.20%, respectively. VanEck recently announced a zero-fee policy for its potential spot Ethereum ETF, which will last until 2025 or until it reaches $1.5 billion in assets.
