📉Losses from cryptocurrency fraud using deepfake technologies could reach $25 billion in 2024, which is twice as much as last year’s losses, according to a Bitget study. The exchange notes a 245% increase in the number of deepfakes in the world in 2024. China, Germany, Ukraine, the USA, Vietnam and the UK became the leaders in the number of deepfakes detected in the first quarter of 2024. Most deepfake losses in cryptocurrencies come in the form of fake projects, phishing attacks, and Ponzi schemes. Without effective measures, the share of deepfake in cryptocurrencies could reach 70% by 2026.
