Odaily Planet Daily News: Robinson Burkey, co-founder of the Wormhole Foundation, shared some progress made since the W airdrop went online nearly three months ago. He mentioned that the anti-witch work through Allium for more than 5 months has been successful. After sorting out the addresses to prevent witch attacks, 400,000 wallets from 26 different ecosystems met the airdrop conditions. Since Wormhole has been running for more than 3 years, there is a lot of data to process, which took about 4 months. So far, the team has processed 265,476 airdrop claims. Burkey concluded: “I think the best airdrops are the ones that users don’t expect. However, I think we can’t go back to that simpler time and have to go into points campaigns and witch wars. Points campaigns are like a tacit agreement between the protocol and ‘new users’ that airdrop farming is acceptable. The question becomes whether the protocol can be well-farmed. I personally support points programs because they can reduce the workload of protocol teams (i.e. reduce the time associated with anti-sybil work).”
