According to Foresight News, Web3 credential data network Galxe tweeted that the website has now been fully restored and is continuing to enhance security. On October 6, an unidentified person contacted domain name service provider Dynadot, posing as an authorized Galxe member and using forged documents to bypass security processes. The impostor then gained unauthorized access to the domain account, which they used to redirect users to fake websites and sign transactions that stole their funds.
All Galxe smart contracts and technical systems remain secure and protected. We estimate that approximately 1,120 users who interacted with the malicious website were affected and approximately $270,000 was stolen. We are actively working on a fund recovery plan with law enforcement and third-party experts. We will ensure that everyone affected is supported. Once a complete list of transactions is obtained, we will notify you of the next steps.
