🚨BIG BREAKING🎯 MicroStrategy Founder Michael Saylor Agrees to $40M Settlement in D.C. Income Tax Case 🌱The District of Columbia sued Saylor in 2022 for allegedly not paying income taxes while living in the district. 💪MicroStrategy (MSTR) founder and Executive Chairman Michael Saylor agreed to a $40 million settlement with the District of Columbia in what officials said was the biggest-ever income tax fraud recovery in the district, the attorney general's office announced on Monday. The District of Columbia sued Saylor and his company in August 2022, alleging the executive paid no income taxes in the district during the more than 10 years he had lived there. It also said MicroStrategy conspired to help him do so. The attorney general’s office alleged Saylor avoided paying more than $25 million in taxes to the district, saying he had claimed to live elsewhere. The New York Times first reported the news. “Florida remains my home today, and I continue to dispute the allegation that I was ever a resident of the District of Columbia,” Saylor told the New York Times. “I have agreed to settle this matter to avoid the continued burdens of the litigation on friends, family, and myself.” Shares of the Tysons Corner, Virginia-based software developer, rose 3% in pre-market trading. ☘️UPDATE (June 3, 12:15 UTC): Updates headline and story with the statement from the attorney general's office.

🚨Binance founder Changpeng Zhao sentenced to 4 months in prison after plea deal🚨 Binance's billionaire founder Changpeng Zhao was sentenced to four months in prison on Tuesday, after pleading guilty to charges of enabling money laundering at his crypto exchange. "You had the wherewithal, the finance capabilities, and the people power to make sure that every single regulation had to be complied with, and so you failed at that opportunity," U.S. District Judge Richard Jones said to Zhao in a Seattle federal court, according to a Reuters report. The sentencing guidelines called for a prison term of 12 to 18 months. "I'm sorry," Zhao told the judge before receiving his sentence, per Reuters. "I believe the first step of taking responsibility is to fully recognize the mistakes," Zhao reportedly said earlier Tuesday in court. "Here I failed to implement an adequate anti-money laundering program... I realize now the seriousness of that mistake." In November, Zhao, commonly known as CZ, struck a deal with the U.S. government to resolve a multiyear investigation into Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange. As part of the settlement, Zhao stepped down as the company's CEO. Though he is no longer running the company, Zhao is widely reported to have an estimated 90% stake in Binance. Zhao, who wore a dark navy suit with a light blue tie to court, is accused of willfully failing to implement an effective anti-money laundering program as required by the Bank Secrecy Act, and of allowing Binance to process transactions involving proceeds of unlawful activity, including between Americans and individuals in sanctions jurisdictions. #FreeCz #StartInvestingInCrypto #EarnFreeCrypto2024

Ethereum cofounder Vitalik Buterin delves into contentious Bitcoin block size war. Vitalik Buterin provided an in-depth analysis of one of Bitcoin’s most contentious historical debates. Buterin's reflections are based on his readings of two prominent books on the subject: Jonathan Bier's "The Blocksize War," which offers a pro-small-block perspective, and Roger Ver and Steve Patterson's "Hijacking Bitcoin," which advocates for the big-block viewpoint. The Bitcoin block size war of the 2010s was a fundamental dispute over the direction and nature of Bitcoin’s scalability and utility. The central issue was whether Bitcoin should increase its block size limit from 1 MB to accommodate more transactions, thereby reducing fees, or maintain smaller blocks to ensure that running a node remains accessible to more users, preserving decentralization. #BTC☀
