Since its launch in May 2023, the Worldcoin native wallet application has already reached 10 million users in less than a year.

World App, the first Worldcoin (WLD) native wallet, has reached the 10 million user milestone in less than 12 months since launch. As the first World ID-compatible wallet, World App makes a significant contribution to providing an easily accessible, self-custodial wallet service worldwide.

The team launched World App in May 2023 and it quickly gained traction, reaching 4 million downloads by November. Today, the app serves users in over 160 countries, with 2 million active users daily and has facilitated over 70 million transactions.

This growth demonstrates its ability to average 7.1 transactions per second, firmly placing the app among the top self-custodial wallets in the world.

Tiago Sada, TFH’s Head of Product, expressed excitement about this milestone and its practical impact. He said:

“Reaching this milestone demonstrates the potential of making Ethereum’s underlying technology accessible and user-friendly. The World App represents our commitment to simplicity and functionality in the cryptocurrency space.”

The World App aims to simplify crypto interactions by focusing on the core functionality of Worldcoin and Ethereum. It enables users to verify their identity through World ID, perform global transactions for free, participate in crypto token exchanges, and receive Worldcoin grants in many areas.

The app is adaptable to a wide range of users, supports most mobile devices, offers transactions with no transaction fees, and provides 24/7 support in over 10 languages.

Remco Bloemen, head of blockchain at the Worldcoin Foundation, praised the success of the World App as an entry point for further adoption and innovation in the Worldcoin ecosystem. He added that he looks forward to developing more wallets to suit different user preferences, which reflects the Worldcoin community's goal of greater decentralization and accessibility.

In a striking example of the app’s impact, a World App user from Kenya purchased a goat using Worldcoin. The story garnered attention and support from the crypto community, leading to donations that enabled the user to acquire more livestock.

Sada says:

“These stories vividly illustrate the potential of cryptocurrency to change lives. Our vision is to enable similar empowering experiences around the world.”

With World App now serving over 10 million users, TFH continues to demonstrate the broad possibilities of crypto for global economic participation.

The development comes against the backdrop of regulatory scrutiny of Worldcoin’s biometric data collection practices in several countries, including Kenya.

Worldcoin recently open-sourced a large amount of its code in an effort to make its data collection more transparent. The project has also undergone a security audit and received praise from industry giants. #Worldcoin  #钱包应用
