During a search of the former head of the State Special Communications Service, Yuriy Shchygol, law enforcement officers found a crypto wallet on his phone, which contained $1.5 million in cryptocurrency.
On November 22, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court decided to impose a preventive measure on the organizer of the scheme, in which the former head of the State Special Communications Service, Yuriy Shchygol, participated. The suspect was taken into custody with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 50 million hryvnias, the SAPO press service reported.
In particular, the Tether USDT cryptocurrency in the amount of 1,201,285 units, which as of November 20 is $1,201,928," the prosecutor said. In addition, according to him, the crypto wallet contains 6.9 bitcoins, the value of which is $265,000.
It is also reported that during the searches, 82 thousand euros and 72 thousand dollars in cash were found in the possession of the former head of the State Special Communications Service.
He was released on bail of 25 million hryvnias, which is equal to $550,000.
