Citigroup Analyst: The 'Altcoin Season' is Coming in 2025
A Citigroup analyst stated in a report on Monday: "Given that Ethereum is the only major cryptocurrency approved as the underlying asset for a spot ETF (besides Bitcoin), it may be a rotation target.
"The performance of other cryptocurrencies has been even more remarkable, with their share of the overall cryptocurrency market cap also increasing. Citigroup added that respondents in a recent survey believe that in 2025, altcoins will perform particularly well.
Analysts noted: "The performance of other cryptocurrencies and altcoins is even more significant, indicating that some market participants expect 2025 to usher in an 'altcoin season' after a strong year for Bitcoin." Experts stated that the differing trends of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies stem from fundamental factors affecting the two markets differently.
