It’s the anniversary of Bitcoin’s Genesis block—January 3, 2009.

As most of you know, Satoshi left a message on the first block:

“Prime Minister 🇬🇧 on brink of second bank bailout.”

It’s no coincidence that Satoshi chose those words. They’re a powerful statement of why Bitcoin was created—a response to the breakdown of trust in the traditional financial system.

The message is from The Times on January 3, 2009. But there’s a detail that few people noticed—on the same day, on the same page, there was another headline:

“Israel prepares to send tanks and troops into Gaza.”

And looking back, we can’t help but shudder—A dozen years have passed… the world has changed a lot, but has it really changed?

• Wars continue, bringing pain and loss.

• Banks still fail, leaving behind fragments of trust.

• Inflation still silently eats away at the value of money.

And every few years, the specter of a new financial crisis looms.

Bitcoin is more than a technology. It is a symbol of resistance—a reminder that we need a way out, a new choice.
