Decentralization is messy. People are imperfect. Pushing power from the center to the edges introduces more randomness into the system.

As described by E. Glen Weyl, Puja Ohlhaver, Vitalik Buterin in (Decentralized Society: Finding Web3’s Soul):

“In less than a decade, Web3 has astounded the world by creating a unique and flexible parallel financial system unlike anything ever created. Foundational elements in cryptography and economics, such as public key cryptography, smart contracts, proof of work, and proof of stake, have enabled a complex and open ecosystem for financial transactions. However, the economic value of financial transactions is generated by humans and their relationships. Because Web3 lacks foundational elements to represent this social identity, it is fundamentally dependent on the centralized Web2 structure it seeks to transcend, and therefore replicates its limitations.

Because of the rich social composability of Web3 social identity, we can make huge progress on broader long-term issues around wealth concentration and governance vulnerability to financial attacks in Web3, while spurring a Cambrian explosion of innovative political, economic, and social applications. We call these use cases and the richer diverse ecosystem they enable “Decentralized Society” (DeSoc).”

As the key to a decentralized society, the decentralization and soul-binding degree of streaming media is of paramount importance! Imagine that in a decentralized society, the content and information you publish can be deleted, changed, and banned at will by some oligarchs. Isn’t this the biggest irony of the free aesthetics of encryption? So today we can introduce to you a decentralized content service platform known as "WEB3 Tik Tok": Contentos ($COS )

1. What is Contentos

Contentos is a decentralized global content ecosystem whose vision is to build a "decentralized digital content community" that allows the free production, distribution, reward and trading of content while protecting the rights of authors, and returns the rights and value of the content to users.

Members of the Contentos platform, including creators, consumers, and advertisers, can earn fair income compensation. Content creation, planning, publishing/storage, and verification are all rewarded in COS tokens, which are the only cryptocurrency.

Contentos also intends to build itself into the Ethereum of future digital content, capable of developing various content DApps.

Simply put, Contentos builds a content public chain. One of the features of this content public chain is that it provides three infrastructures:

1) A decentralized digital content system that allows content creators to directly reach consumers or advertisers and freely produce, store and distribute.

2) Trading and financial systems, where tokens are used to reward users and for all transactions and circulation within the ecosystem, including virtual gift trading rewards, advertising monetization, digital content trading, payment purchases within the ecosystem, digital asset wallets, etc.

3) Social network: Provide a social network that connects everyone, distribute and disseminate information through the power of socialization, and achieve close connections between users through models such as rewards, profit sharing, and the introduction of content partners.

2. Contentos Tokens and Investment Institutions

Contentos token COS total issuance: 10 billion.

COS tokens will be destroyed over a long period of time until 50% of the issued amount is destroyed. Three destructions have been carried out so far.

Contentos plans to put the COS tokens minted by COS.TV into the destruction pool to accelerate the destruction of COS. Contentos has an unprecedentedly strong lineup of investment institutions, including Binance Labs, and COS tokens are also listed on the Binance exchange.

3. Contentos Core: COS.TV

COS.TV is a content ecosystem Dapp developed based on the content public chain Contentos and is a video content creation platform.

So what’s different about COS.TV?

1) Obtain token income in proportion to the algorithm

COS.TV defines three revenue streams for creators’ content: peer-to-peer contribution, advertiser sponsorship, and content reward machine.

COS.TV users can get token rewards by uploading original videos. The newly generated COS in each block on COS.TV will be distributed to content creators according to the contribution ratio based on the algorithm.

2) Video content NFT tokenization

After each video is uploaded, a corresponding unique NFT token can be minted. This token is a symbol of ownership of the video, and the original creator is the initial owner of this NFT token.

Users can trade NFT tokens, which is also a transaction of ownership of the video. Whoever owns the NFT token of the video will own the corresponding income of the video (such as advertising and user reward income). In short, it is a transfer of income.

According to the COS.TV website, the video content on the website is not rich enough. The video content NFT tokenization function, the project plan hopes to be able to freely choose the public chain issued according to the needs of creators, such as Ethereum, Binance BSC, Polkadot, Contentos Mainnet, so that creators can freely circulate their content copyrights on various mainnets.

Currently, COS.TV has opened applications for Video NFTs minting. In the future, each application service fee will be 10,000 COS tokens. If you are interested, you can go through the process to experience it.

4. How to interact with airdrops?

On November 13, COS.TV channel launched a new social finance feature for VIPs: “Airdrop”:

As a dynamic tool designed for creators and community members, airdrops simplify engagement by allowing creators to seamlessly engage with their audiences. With airdrops, creators can easily manage unique chatroom events, surprise their audiences with rewards, and foster a stronger sense of community support. In addition, members can use airdrops to send holiday and birthday wishes, sharing happiness with others instantly!

The specific steps to participate are as follows:

1. Go to the chatroom where the airdrop is taking place.

2. Purchase a PASS and enter the chat room.

3. Find the airdrop message and click the "Claim" button. The screen will show the amount of airdrop you received!

Airdrop FAQ:

1. Do I need to pay fees or gas to send and receive airdrops?

Each action, such as sending or receiving an airdrop, purchasing a PASS to join a chatroom, or selling a PASS, incurs a "stamina" cost on the Contentos mainnet. Your stamina recovers over time. You can check how much stamina you have by going to your profile.

2. Can the sent airdrop be restored?

Once sent, the airdrop cannot be canceled or restored unless it is not claimed within 24 hours. Unclaimed airdrop amounts will be automatically refunded after 24 hours.

3. Will unclaimed airdrops expire?

Unclaimed airdrops expire after 24 hours and are automatically returned to the sender.

4. Why can't others see the airdrop I sent?

In non-group chat rooms, only the chat room owner and the airdrop sender can see the airdrop notification. Please check if the chat room has group chat enabled before sending an airdrop.

5. Conclusion

We are heading towards an era of greater decentralization in every aspect - geopolitics, finance, education, news, and energy to name a few - driven by technology, including but not limited to the Internet. This new era of decentralization will require new infrastructure (such as Contentos) and organizing principles to accommodate the inherent chaos and complexity of decentralized systems. One way to look at world history is as a sine wave oscillating between centralization and decentralization, with an upward trend on the axis of mass.

All the ups and downs have an upward slope. New technologies break old systems, but they help us piece together new systems in a way that’s better than ever before — just like what Contentos is doing now, right?
