Only BTC, along with TON and BNB, are the cryptocurrencies closest to reaching their All-Time Highs (ATHs). This shows that TON has gained strong traction in the current cycle, standing out alongside Bitcoin in terms of resilience.
According to the Price Drawdown Heatmap, BTC is still the cryptocurrency nearest to its ATH, followed by BNB, TON, SOL, and ETH. Meanwhile, most altcoins remain far from their peaks, with declines ranging from -74% to -97%.
This trend helps explain why Bitcoin’s dominance has been steadily rising. Although altcoins occasionally experience brief rallies, these upswings are usually short-lived, followed by returns to historical lows.
Interestingly, Bitcoin hit new highs in 2024, but nearly 10 months have passed without the altcoins showing the strength seen in 2021. In other words, this cycle is unfolding more slowly, with a more cautious and uncertain outlook across the cryptocurrency market.
