🎂 16 years of $BTC
We all know how this story goes in the present, but few know that the night of Halloween brought to life not only some specters but also gave birth to what we now know as Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as we know them today.
A bit of history:
On October 31, 2008, the first Whitepaper was signed, using the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto and titled ‘Bitcoin P2P e-cash paper’, to a mailing list about cryptography belonging to the limited company Metzger, Dowdeswell & Co. LLC.
Subsequently, on January 3, 2009, the first peer-to-peer network based on the protocol, also under the name Bitcoin, would go into operation after the launch of the first open-source software capable of running nodes of the currency.
These events are the origin of a great journey, as these events mark the creation of the first bitcoins and the beginning of mining, the first mining of blocks would be mined (pun intended) by Satoshi Nakamoto himself.
