Elon Musk thinks OpenAI CEO Sam Altman resembles the cunning character in "Game of Thrones."

"Sam Altman is Little Finger," Musk wrote on X on September 26, referring to Lord Petyr Baelish, the ruthless and cunning manipulator on Game of Thrones.

Musk posted the message after another X account shared four photos of Altman, former CTO Mira Murati, and co-founders Greg Brockman and Ilya Sutskever — all of whom were considered key figures at OpenAI but have since left. Each photo shows each of these people removed from the frame.

On September 25, CTO Murati, the "silent general" behind the success of ChatGPT, said she was no longer working at OpenAI after 6.5 years. Previously, Sutskever left in May and founded a new AI company, while Brockman decided to take a long-term leave in August.

Musk also responded to another X post on September 26, sharing a May podcast in which Altman said he didn't need more money. "What I personally don't like is the way Sam does things, it's very manipulative," Musk commented.

The American billionaire also mentioned the news that OpenAI is preparing to change its corporate structure to become a for-profit company. "Right on target," he wrote. According to Business Insider, he seemed to mock the OpenAI CEO for previously stating that he did not need money.

Elon Musk, Sam Altman and OpenAI have not yet commented.

Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015, a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing safe AI for the benefit of humanity. In February, Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, saying Altman lured him into co-founding the company with the promise of “a path toward safety and openness versus the profit-driven tech giants.” After joining and investing millions of dollars, Musk felt betrayed because “Altman told me he would ensure the nonprofit structure would be neutral, focused on safety and openness for the benefit of humanity, not shareholder value. But it turned out to be a charity.”
