American billionaire Elon Musk said he would withdraw his lawsuit against OpenAI if Sam Altman's company agreed to change its name to ClosedAI.

"Change your name to ClosedAI and I will drop the lawsuit," Musk responded to a post by OpenAI on X on March 6. In a follow-up post, the American billionaire repeated the message, demanding that "OpenAI stop living a lie."

Elon Musk even remade a photo of CEO Sam Altman holding a visitor's badge when he visited the company's headquarters last year for talks after he was fired, with the tag changed from OpenAI to ClosedAI.

Musk's series of messages on X came after OpenAI released internal emails between its co-founders between 2015 and 2018. The move was intended to refute the allegations in Musk's lawsuit and tell the truth about their relationship.

According to the email, Musk wanted to merge OpenAI with Tesla, as the company needed money to build AGI. The American billionaire wanted to take a majority stake and take on the role of CEO to control the board. But in the end, the two sides could not agree on terms because OpenAI felt that any individual having absolute control would go against the original interests.

According to NDTV, Elon Musk's lawsuit is the culmination of his long-standing opposition to OpenAI. The American billionaire left the company in 2018. He often criticized the company for straying from its stated "benefit for humanity" criteria in pursuit of profit, especially after OpenAI raised $1 billion from Microsoft.

Meanwhile, under the leadership of Sam Altman, Open AI is becoming one of the most valuable and fastest-growing startups in the world. According to the New York Times, OpenAI is currently valued at $80 billion. However, the company is also facing a series of problems related to copyright issues related to data used to train AI models.
