[Should you invest in Ethereum? 】

In 2013, when most young people were still enjoying their weekends, 19-year-old programmer Vitalik Buterin was already envisioning a blueprint for changing the digital world. Buterin loved Bitcoin but thought it had limited functionality and longed for a platform that could not only handle financial transactions but also support applications. When the Bitcoin Core development team wasn't interested in his idea, Buterin decided to take matters into his own hands and built Ethereum with Gavin Wood, Charles Hoskinson, and others.

Ethereum's goal is to build a "world computer" that can run any program and allow human creativity to be unleashed. In 2014, they raised $18 million through an initial coin offering (ICO). A year later, in 2015, the Ethereum network was officially launched, symbolizing the advent of a new era in the digital world.

In 2017, entrepreneurs turned coding code into digital wealth through Ethereum’s ICO, and despite facing volatility, Ethereum has weathered boom and bust cycles and emerged stronger. In September 2022, Ethereum completed "Merge", switching from proof of work to proof of equity, significantly reducing energy consumption.

Today, Ethereum has become an important cornerstone of the crypto industry, with Layer 2 solutions further extending its capabilities and reducing transaction costs. Despite this, emerging competitors are emerging, and whether ETH is still a worthy investment choice still needs to be carefully evaluated. But it is undeniable that Ethereum is still the second among mainstream currencies, second only to Bitcoin.
