According to Odaily Planet Daily, John Reed Stark, former head of the U.S. SEC's Office of Internet Enforcement, warned that conflicts may arise within the SEC after Trump's victory.
Stark wrote on X that SEC Chairman Gary Gensler promoted five senior officials to ensure their influence after leaving office, calling the move unprecedented.
Stark said the promotions were career civil service positions that would be difficult for the new administration to undo and were not publicly announced. Stark predicted a brewing conflict between the Trump administration and Gensler’s appointees that could shut down all cryptocurrency-related investigations.
