German tokenization company Cashlink has received a cryptocurrency custody license from BaFin, according to Wu. Previously, the company already had a cryptocurrency securities registrar license.
Under German law, when securities are issued on DLT, a registrar can be used instead of a central securities depository (CSD). With the new license, Cashlink can now manage the private keys associated with the tokenized securities it has participated in issuing and registering.
