According to ChainCatcher, U.S. House of Representatives Republican Speaker Johnson is considering a "Plan B" to fund the government before the government shutdown deadline on Friday.
Republicans inside and outside Congress, including from Trump's own team, have assailed his spending plans. Trump has expressed total opposition to a continuing resolution spending bill.
Musk also said any lawmaker who supports the bill should step down. The alternative Johnson is considering is a "clean" continuing resolution bill that would abandon the additional provisions in the original 1,500-page spending plan.
