According to Cointelegraph, US President Biden supports banning members of Congress from trading stocks during their term of office. Biden said in an interview that members of Congress should not profit from the stock market during their term of office.

Biden has not previously commented much on legislation that would restrict or prohibit members of Congress from owning or trading stocks, a proposal that has bipartisan support in Congress and could extend to cryptocurrency trading.

Biden said he did not trade stocks while serving as a senator from 1973 to 2009. Although he did not say much about cryptocurrencies during his term, he issued an executive order in 2022 on a regulatory framework for digital assets.

The report did not mention whether Biden supports banning Supreme Court justices from trading stocks. Justices are currently allowed to trade stocks, but they may face the risk of conflicts of interest.
