LCX was founded in 2018 by Monty C. M. Metzger, a serial entrepreneur. Since launching, LCX has opened satellite offices in Switzerland, India and the USA. It is documented that LCX aims to provide a secure platform on which digital assets can be held, traded, and otherwise implemented globally. The overall focus is said to be on operating as a fully compliant digital platform engaged in tokenizing assets into the blockchain.

According to contents published by the team behind the project and technology platform, LCX has implemented plans and started developing its blockchain to expand its network. LCX was launched on the Ethereum blockchain network. The digital currency that powers operations on the platform is known by its token ticker, $LCX.
