Former Binance executive launches new exchange?

Recently, click-screen mini-games in the TON ecosystem have exploded. In addition to Notcoin, small games such as Hamster Kombat and tapswap have also exceeded 30 million users. Among the top 10 channels on Telegram in the world, 5 are currently encrypted social channels.

Among them, Blum is a community that has risen rapidly recently. The current number of channel subscribers exceeds 7.63 million, with an increase of 6.6 million subscribers in a single month, ranking fifth in the world on Telegram.

Founded by a former senior executive of Binance and selected into the Binance Labs accelerator program

President. In addition, Degenie, the former design director of Binance and Trust Wallet, currently serves as VP of Blum and is also one of the co-founders.

According to the official introduction, Blum is a decentralized exchange that provides token trading from centralized and decentralized platforms, as well as simplified derivatives trading. Launch a mobile app and a mini-app within Telegram. Blum will offer futures trading and the ability to purchase tokens from various networks. Additionally, Blum does not hold user funds; users can create MPC wallets or connect existing wallets such as Ton Wallet, Trust Wallet, Metamask, etc.

In March this year, Blum was selected into Binance Labs’ seventh season MVB accelerator program. It is understood that being selected for the program does not mean that Binance Labs will invest in it. According to Bloomberg, Kostarev revealed in March that he was negotiating financing matters and hoped to complete the financing that month. As of now, Blum has not disclosed its financing status.

An exchange that can only play games gains millions of users

At present, Blum’s trading function has not yet been launched, but it has already gained 10 million users through the model of earning points through mini-game mining. Blum's game mode is divided into several parts.

1. Similar to the traditional airdrop process, users are required to subscribe to official social media accounts or invite friends to obtain points.

2. Blum launched the Drop game, a game mode in which you earn points by tapping the screen to catch falling gold coins.

3. Farm mode, this mode does not require users to deposit tokens, but automatically mines points over time.

According to official TG channel information, it is currently in the stage of users collecting Blum points, which can be exchanged for tokens. On May 24, Blum officially launched the witch reporting plan. Reporters will receive a 1% points reward. Perhaps in order to limit too many witches from cheating, Blum currently limits each user to only inviting 10 friends to receive rewards. According to its official roadmap, trading and self-hosted wallets will be opened and Public Launched in the second quarter of 2024.

Small game airdrops are difficult to produce, TON becomes the biggest winner

TON ecological games have achieved exaggerated results recently. Hamster Kombat announced on June 6 that the number of users exceeded 100 million, with 31 million daily active users. Tapswap announced that the number of players exceeded 30 million. This has also allowed many projects to see Telegram’s explosive power in quickly converting Web2 users. But so far, the only project in the TON ecosystem that has achieved success in the token economy through the mini-game model is Notcoin. Most players currently participating also hope that newly emerging mini-games can replicate the success of Notcoin.

From another perspective, several popular small game projects have yet to launch token airdrop plans. The main reason is that the number of users is too large, and the rewards for the shared points will be very small. In addition, many games do not set up the process of filtering witches in the process of obtaining traffic in the early stage, resulting in a large number of robot accounts behind these data. Tapswap announced that it would postpone the pool launch to July 1. The official explanation was that the reason for the delay was mainly the discovery that many robots had obtained unrealistic shares. Hamster Kombat announced on May 31 that it would issue tokens on TON, but so far it has not announced a specific time.

At present, the TON public chain is taking advantage of the mini-game craze. According to tokenterminal data, the TON chain currently has more than 4.8 million monthly active users, a monthly increase of 223%. This number was less than 500,000 before mid-March. After the outbreak of mini-games triggered by Notcoin, this number increased nearly 10 times in three months. Currently, several popular applications such as Hamster Kombat, tapswap, and Blum have not yet launched airdrops. Once the airdrops are officially launched, the activity during the airdrop periods before and after will plummet. I wonder whether this will happen in the Ton ecosystem.
